What is Revolutions for Research?

Revolutions for Research is a new and exciting way to fundraise. For over three hours, as an individual or with friends as a relay team, get your heart pumping with what is sure to be the biggest and best indoor cycling class of your life! For one day, the AACR takes over Philadelphia's Simeone Foundation Automotive Museum, brings in 100 state-of-the-art stationary bikes, and creates an empowering fundraising experience complete with vendors, celebrity appearances, and fitness demonstrations. All proceeds from the event benefit the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR).

What is the AACR?

The American Association for Cancer Research (AACR) raises funds to cure all of the more than 200 types of cancer. As the world’s first and largest cancer research organization, founded in 1907, the AACR works with institutions and scientists in over 100 countries to understand, prevent, and eradicate every type of cancer. In the last 15 years, the AACR has provided over $200 million in grants to ensure that the world is moving towards being cancer-free. We are dedicated to fundraising in innovative ways and to making sure that the maximum amount of each donation goes directly to cancer research.

What types of cancer does Revolutions for Research fundraising benefit?

Funds raised by Revolutions for Research participants will go directly to the AACR, which is dedicated to preventing, treating, and curing ALL of the more than 200 types of cancer.

When and where are upcoming Revolutions for Research events?

The next Revolutions for Research event will take place in Philadelphia, PA on November 4, 2017.

How do I sign up? Is there a fee?

Click the 'Register' button at the top right of any page of this site to register. Registration is $25. Once you sign up, you must raise a minimum amount of $750 per bike. Your registration fee, and all team members’ fees, go towards the fundraising minimum.

Is there a limit to how many members per team?

Teams may consist of 2-5 members, who will take turns riding the team’s stationary bike during the program. Alternatively, individuals seeking a bigger challenge may sign up as an Intense Rider. Intense Riders will complete the over three-hour session as an individual rider, and are responsible for raising the minimum of $750 per bike.

How many bikes are allowed per team?

Each team of 2-5 people will be allotted one bike.

How long will each person ride?

Each shift will last for over three hours, and during your shift, team members may switch off riding as often as they would like to.

How much experience is required to participate?

No experience is required to participate in Revolutions for Research. First-time riders are welcome as well as seasoned cyclists.

Is there a minimum age requirement to participate?

Revolutions for Research is open to participants age 12 and over.

How can I get my company involved as a sponsor?

Is a Revolutions for Research donation tax deductible?

Yes, your donation is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law, and you will be given a receipt for U.S. tax purposes.

How much of my donation will go towards cancer research?

We direct 88 cents of every dollar you raise to support cancer research.

What kinds of research will my donation be funding?

The AACR's scientific expertise spreads across the entire spectrum of cancer research from basic science to translational and clinical research for all of the more than 200 types of cancer.

Is there an individual fundraising requirement?

Each team or Intense Rider will be required to raise a minimum of $750 per bike.

How do I make a donation to a team or individual?
